The top students at the University of Johannesburg’s (UJ) Medical Imaging & Radiation Science (MIRS) Department were honoured with awards on 14 April. Students who completed the Short Learning Programme in Mammography were also awarded certificates during the event.

Hosted at the University’s Resolution Circle in Milpark, more than 30 awards were made to deserving and outstanding students.

UJ’s Head of the Department of MIRS, Mr Sibusiso Mdletshe, delivered a short discourse which he titled ‘Developing Success Habits’. He encouraged the awardees ‘bear in mind that each of us need to set our own definition for our own success. Such definition must be based on what we are passionate about.’

The highlight of the event was the International Exchange Lecturer, Dr Zeinab El roubi, who is visiting the MIRS Department. She is the Vice-Dean of the Faculty of Radiological Sciences at the University of Medical Sciences and Technology in Khartoum, Sudan, and a Radiologist by profession.
