UJ and the Information Architecture Institute explore ‘happiness’ at international conference

How can information architecture affect happiness? How can we best construct structures for information that promote happiness? What work is bridging the gaps we face as we transition from a primarily analogue, to a primarily digital way of life? These are some of the questions that will be addressed at the University of Johannesburg on Saturday, 21 February 2015.

UJ’s Department of Multimedia in the Faculty of Art, Design and Architecture (FADA) is hosting the fourth Annual World Information Architecture Day (WIAD). The one-day conference, themed Architecting Happiness will see the design community and industry from a selected 38 cities and 24 countries join the global conversation which wil be held simultaneously.

Says Mr Marc Edwards, Head of Department: Multimedia, UJ: “Information Architecture (IA) is a way of making information easier to find and forms a part of the curriculum in the Multimedia Design Programme offered at UJ. As a leader in IA and Human Centered Design in education, our department has joined the Information Architecture Institute in hosting this event for the third time.”

Although the conference is free of charge, there is limited space available and it is recommended that interested parties who would like to attend this conference to book online.
