School of Consumer Intelligence and Information Systems, clinches R1,5m PRIMEDIA support

The UJ SCiiS’ Department of Marketing Management and PRIMEDIA signed an agreement for three years (2018 – 2020), for the total value of R 1.5 million. Fifteen students each year will receive R 33 333 towards their studies for a period of three years.

”The Department of Marketing Management was approached by PRIMEDIA who were interested in getting involved in the student development arena and believed it a good idea to offer advertising space instead of hard cash,” said Dr Marius Wait, HOD: Marketing Management at UJ.

The Department’s top students over three qualifications (ND Marketing, ND Retailing and B Com Marketing) are invited to submit their CVs to PRIMEDIA. PRIMEDIA will oversee the final screening and selection. The final students will then be interviewed.

The Department continuously strives to improve throughput rate and a high articulation rate to higher degrees.

The Department of Marketing Management is part of the School of Consumer Intelligence and Information Systems in the College of Business and Economics at the University of Johannesburg. The College of Business and Economics was launched on 1 July 2017, and emerged from the former Faculty of Management and the former Faculty of Economic and Financial Sciences.
