Breaking Barriers With Biotech

About the talk: Biotechnology is a revolutionary field in the present age of innovation and a key technology to building a sustainable bioeconomy. I will highlight a few breakthroughs the biotech sector is currently boasting; from building artificial embryos and engineering immune cells to fight cancer, making bacteria spin silk, to the possibility of CRISPR food coming to a
supermarket near you.

About the speaker: Dr Kulsum Kondiah is a senior lecturer at the Department of Biotechnology and Food Technology.
