Professor Hendrik Ferreira awarded as A-rated researcher by National Research Foundation (NRF)

Date: Dec 11, 2012 | News

Every year, the National Research Foundation (NRF) evaluates and rates researchers in terms of both a South African and international perspective.

This prestigious rating of an individual is based primarily on the quality of the research output over the past 7 years, taking into consideration the evaluation made by local and international peers and the impact of their work in their field of expertise and how their research impacted on adjacent fields.

Professor Hendrik Ferreira, Faculty of Engineering and Built Environment at the University of Johannesburg (UJ) recently joined a high concentration of NRF rated researchers. Professor Ferreira is one of 6 A-rated researchers, the top echelon of South African academic achievers at the University, with a growing number of B and C rated researchers.

UJ’s number of NRF rated researchers now stands at 115.
