Postponement of the UJ Festival: Alumni and Friends

Date: Oct 27, 2015 | News

The University of Johannesburg (UJ) wants to express its gratitude to the more than 3000 alumni and their 600 children who have registered for the celebratory UJ Festival: Alumni and Friends this coming weekend from Friday, 30 October – Saturday, 31 October 2015. It is therefore with a heavy heart that we have to postpone the UJ Festival due to the current national climate in Higher Education.

The safety and wellbeing of our alumni, their families and friends are of utmost importance to us. Much preparation has been put in, to ensure that our alumni could enjoy a festival filled with the best that the continent has to offer in an assortment of stimulating thought, fine art, and world class live entertainment. In view of the current circumstances that prevail upon South African universities we do not deem it appropriate to enter into festivities.

However we remain committed to celebrate our first decade of prominence and prosperity with our alumni in 2016. We would also like to apologise for any inconvenience caused by the postponement. We look forward to welcoming you next year.

Mr Milcho Damianov

Executive Director: Institutional Advancement.
