Physics postdoc delivers winning presentation in India

The Department of Physics congratulates is postdoctoral fellow, Dr Pankaj Mohanty, who recently visited the UGC-DAE Consortium for Scientific Research in Indore, India, to attend the Annual Day Celebrations 2016 and CRS Users Research Scholars’ Workshop Physics of Advanced Materials III in December 2016.

Dr Mohanty gave an oral presentation entitled: “Structural and magnetic properties nickel chromite” and was awarded the Best Presentation Certificate by the Director of the Indore Centre. Dr Mohanty worked in the Pulsed Laser Deposition (PLD) laboratory where he deposited several chromite thin films, in addition to visiting North Orissa University’s Postgraduate Department of Physics and presenting a seminar entitled: “Structural and Magnetic Phase Transitions of Doped Chromites.

He said he enjoyed discussing current research and exploring avenues for future collaboration with other scientific groups with similar interests
