Number of top achievers at UJ in 2011 exceeds all expectations

A record number of 320 first-year students at the University of Johannesburg (UJ), having obtained an average of 75% or more in their June 2011 examinations, will be acknowledged and celebrated at a luncheon at the Auckland Park Kingsway Campus on Friday, 23 September 2011.
This year produced the second highest number of top achievers since the inception of UJ. In 2005, the first-year top achieving group amounted to 239, followed by 200 students in 2006 and 2007. The years 2008 and 2009, produced 189 and 195 top achievers, respectively. In 2010, the first-year top achieving group amounted to 326.
