Investec shares insights about CA programme with Accountancy@UJ students

Date: Feb 21, 2014 | News

Several of the University of Johannesburg’s (UJ) Accountancy@UJ students joined some staff members of Investec last night, Thursday, 20 February 2014, for their annual Chartered Accountants (CA) Programme Networking event, where students are shown the possibilities and opportunities they could have at Investec through their CA Programme.

Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of Investec Mr Stephen Koseff encouraged the Certificate in the Theory of Accounting (CTA) students from UJ, University of Pretoria and the University of the Witwatersrand to continue working hard on their studies, and develop a “can do” attitude in order to be part of their graduate programme.
“We have a unique culture and as part of our culture we want to give back to society. You need to have people skills, fit within our culture, have the ability to engage and a positive attitude”, Koseff said.
The CTA students were also addressed by Dr William Fowlds, a wildlife veterinarian who works closely with Investec, about the rhino poaching crisis in South Africa and its impact in society.
