Drivers of centres for small and medium enterprises meet Minister at UJ

​​Officials and delegates from 23 South African universities and other Further Education and Training (FETs) representatives met with Dr Bonginkosi Emmanuel “Blade” Nzimande, Minister of Higher Education, at the University of Johannesburg (UJ) on Wednesday, 11 May 2011.​​​

The meeting was aimed to solicit funding for centres of business at education institutions in order to grow Small and Medium Enterprises (SMEs). UJ’s Dr. Thami Mazwai, Director: Centre for Small Business Development (CSBD) and Professor Shanida Cassim from the University of Kwa-Zulu Natal (UKZN) presented their research findings. The initiative will strive to uplift entrepreneurship in the South Africa and so boost the economy.

“Entrepreneurship is a philosophy adopted by all to survive and thrive in the entrepreneurial age,” said Professor Cassim.
