Regaogetswe Mashigo is an Assistant lecturer in the Department of Strategic Communication and her career started as a tutor in the Department. She specialises in strategic communication, digital communication platforms, digital strategy, and stakeholder engagement. Over her 4-year academic career, she has developed and lectured different modules at different levels. She is passionate about communication and media, and she is driven by continuous improvement and effective communication. In pursuit of her academic career goals, she has registered for a PhD in Strategic Communication at the University of Johannesburg, and in the process of publishing two articles. She presents at research conferences and supervises honours students and she was also funded by the National Research Foundation. She is a marketing representative at the Department of Strategic Communication, and is responsible for marketing and journalism duties, she conducts interviews, develops content for the website and social networking sites. She is passionate about teaching and aims to help students realise their true capabilities and become independent strategic thinkers.
Research Interests: Digital media, Digital Communication media, Stakeholder engagement, Business communication – Technological innovations, Online social networks in business.
2020 Strategic Communication Tutor Award.
2021 Successfully lectured a new BA Extended Degree in the Department of Strategic Communication. Achieved a 75% pass rate in the 1st semester of teaching a new BA Extended Strategic Communication.
2021 Achieved a 73% pass rate in the 2nd semester of teaching a new BA Extended Strategic Communication.
2021 Obtained 79% for a Masters dissertation.
