About Dr Nzondelelo Bingwa
Biography
Ndzondelelo Bingwa is from a small town called Cofimvaba in the Eastern Cape province of South Africa. He obtained his B.Sc and B.Sc Honours degrees at Walter Sisulu University (NMD campus) in 2011 and 2012, respectively. He then obtained his Masters degree specializing in Catalysis at the University of Johannesburg (APK) under the supervision of Prof Reinout Meijboom (UJ). Ndzondelelo enrolled for Ph.D in Chemistry specializing in heterogeneous catalysis under the supervision of Prof Reinout Meijboom (UJ) and Prof. Dr. Marco Haumann (Friedrich-Alexander Universität Erlangen-Nürnberg, Germany) and graduated in 2018. He is an author of several international peer-reviewed articles.
Research Interests
Dr Bingwa’s research focus is mainly on the application of mixed-metal oxides, perovskites, as heterogeneous catalysts for the transformation of bio-derives polyols and long-chain alcohols into value added chemicals.
