Majors and elective modules to combine with Communication and Media as major include:

Anthropology; Development Studies; English; Philosophy; Politics and International Relations; Psychology; Sociology and/or Strategic Communication.

Journalism, Film and Television (JFT) subjects form a compulsory major for all the undergraduate students in the School of Communication, as it is the core theoretical and practical component of their studies. The Department of Journalism, Film and Television (JFT) provides students with an opportunity to learn about, explore and conduct research on the theoretical and practical perspectives of the relevant fields.

There is a great deal of synergy between Journalism, Film and Television (JFT) subjects,students will be given the opportunity at honourslevel to work on joint projects which cover both disciplines. Journalism, Film and Television (JFT) also offers degrees by research in the Masters and Doctoral level. Since their inception, JFT have striven to combine theoretical and vocational training in their course offerings and this will continue in the new department and grow even further.
