Advanced Diploma Retailing
UJ Advanced Diploma Retailing
The Advanced Diploma Retailing qualification offered at the University of Johannesburg is the first and only Advanced Diploma in Retailing in South Africa and aims to provide students with the opportunity to become a true specialist in the Retail industry.
This qualification develops the applied and practical competencies of the graduate in the acquisition, understanding and application of retailing principles. It provides an intensive, focused and applied specialisation within the field of Retail to ensure that graduates have a deep and systematic understanding of current thinking, practice, theory, strategies and methodology in the field of Retail.
Important to note:
Advanced Diplomas were previously known as a BTech qualification (it is the exact same qualification, only a new name). Within the next years, all BTech programmes offered by Universities in South Africa will be changed and called Advanced Diplomas). This programme is an NQF level 7 qualification.

Frequently asked questions about the Advanced Diploma Retailing
If I'm working full-time, will I be able to complete the programme on a full-time basis?
We don't recommend students who are working full-time to register on a full-time basis. The modules are made up of lots of group work and assignments which can be difficult to manage with a full-time job. Also note that some classes are during the day time and your employer needs to provide you with permission to attend classes before you enroll.
Are classes compulsory?
Yes. You can only be excused from 2 classes per semester in totality not 2 classes per subject.
My company wants to pay for my fees. Can you give me a quote?
Unfortunately the Department cannot generate quotes for students. Please contact the College of Business and Economics on 0115593875 or you can contact Student Finance directly on 0115593935.
