The Outlook for 2019

Does Democracy Work for Business in Africa?

The single most important factor likely to shape the African continent in 2019 is politics and the associated risk that comes with it. Political change has an undeniable impact on business and economic confidence in Africa, as it does in most other parts of the world. But in the African context, these are inextricably intertwined as the key drivers and shapers of growth, development and progress. Strong political institutions and a healthy competitive democratic order are a prerequisite to economic success.

Join the Johannesburg Business School (JBS) as we explore the outlook or democracy and business in Africa in 2019 and beyond.

Hosted by Prof Lyal White, Senior Director, Johannesburg Business School.
