The University of Johannesburg has been very successful in doubling its research output over the last few months. The CSESE specifically focuses research within the social economy.
Examples of clients that used the CSESE’s services for research examples of clients that used the CSESE’s services for research are:
- The International Labour Organisation (ILO) for a study into an enabling environment for social enterprises in South Africa plus a toolbox of the different business development services or tools for social enterprises.
- FIESS – the case study of South Africa dealing with job creation and policy development within the social and solidarity economy (show-cased at the International Social and Solidarity Economy Conference in Montreal in October 2011.
- Transnet Foundation – research into Volunteer Mentoring and Coaching
- Consumers International – research into the sustainability of independent consumers’ forums in Africa (currently underway)
