The goal of Strategic Communication is to build the UJ brand through effective internal and external communication campaigns. This unit supports the corporate mission, policy and goals of the University as well as its marketing activities for maximum impact.
Communication and information sharing is core to achieving the strategic goals of UJ. Our communication outputs are focused, and effort is leveraged to the maximum by identifying suitable communication vehicles through which communication can be implemented.

Media Contacts and News Releases
Whether you’re seeking a story idea, putting the finishing touches on a piece, or looking for an expert, connect with an UJ Media communications officer to provide you with the relevant information. The Media office also writes news releases to publicise a variety of topics from ground-breaking research studies to major events taking place at the University.
Filming and Photography
News reporters with camera crews must schedule all visits to university grounds with the Strategic Communication. Video, photographic images or audio of students may not be captured without written consent from the individuals in question. For more information about filming on campus, please contact our Media office. You can also request photos of UJ staff, campuses and events.
Official reports, magazines, newsletter and other special publications are available.
Often media requires an expert to speak on a topic of interest, and UJ has a wealth of knowledge among its corridors and lecturer rooms.
