VOTING TO ELECT THE EXECUTIVE COMMITTEE OF UJ CONVOCATION

As per the Constitution of the Convocation of the University of Johannesburg, the Executive Committee of the Convocation includes five members elected by Convocation. Following the call for nominations, you are now invited to participate in the election of members.
Voting is officially open from 13 August 2019 to 30 August 2019 via a secure online voting system.
The Institutional Statute of UJ determines that the membership of the Convocation consists of: Alumni (diplomates and graduates of accredited subsidised qualifications) of the University of Johannesburg, the Rand Afrikaans University and the Technikon Witwatersrand, the Vice Chancellor and other members of the Management Executive Committee, permanent academic employees and retired permanent academic employees of the University.
Terms and Conditions:
1. The candidate with the highest number of votes will be assigned to the position of President of Convocation.
2. The candidate with the second highest number of votes will be assigned to the position of Deputy President of Convocation.
3. In accordance with the UJ Statute, the composition of Council includes two external representatives of Convocation, elected by Convocation. A candidate is regarded as 'external' if neither a registered student of the University of Johannesburg nor in the employ of the University of Johannesburg. The two external candidates who receive the highest number of votes will be assigned to represent Convocation on Council. (A member elected to the UJ Council may also serve on the Executive Committee of Convocation.)
4. Each member of Convocation is allowed to cast up to a maximum of five votes. Each vote cast, must be for a different candidate.
To ensure the authenticity of communication regarding the Convocation, any communication sent will also be displayed on the UJ website. Any communication regarding the process or meetings of the Convocation, etc. that do not appear on the UJ website will not be regarded as official.
The results of the voting will be communicated and published online during the first week of September 2019.
