UJ Alumni to enhance national teachers' development with Tim Tebeila Foundation
The UJ Division of Institutional Advancement is
embarking on an exciting new initiative with the Tim Tebeila Foundation (TTF) –
to facilitate the life orientation curriculum redesign aimed at inculcating
scholarly patriotism at basic education level. This will enable a conducive
environment for social transformation, cohesion and inclusiveness.
This partnership, formalized on the 29th of February 2016, is based on the execution of the My South Africa Thand' Umzansi campaign, commissioned by the Department of Arts and culture under the auspice of the Honorable Deputy President, Rejoice Thizwilondi Mabudafhasi. UJ's involvement as the official academic partner is due to the elevated academic reputation on preeminence and stature.
The magnitude of this project will solidify UJ's proactive approach in influencing the foundation for the infusion of the African epistemologies in teaching and learning methodologies at basic education level. This is drawn with reference to the planned deliberations of the UJ senate and students as echoed in Prof. Rensburg's public statements regarding the #FeesMustFall campaign resolutions.
This campaign will catapult UJ into the stratosphere of transformation and the decolonization of knowledge that is currently highly demanded. UJ will be on the forefront of transformation and all-encompassing towards all South African citizens.
