UJ Architecture Department receives unconditional validation.
The Department of Architecture recently received full and unconditional Validation of our programme stream from the South African Council for the Architectural Profession (SACAP) and the Commonwealth Association of Architecture (CAA) . The Department has now become the eighth fully fledged Architectural Learning Site in South Africa. Our students can now register with SACAP at all levels- from Candidate Architect to Candidate Architectural Technologist. Furthermore it is confirmation that our programmes comply with the standards associated with Architectural Learning Sites throughout the Commonwealth.
This is the achievement of a long-held ambition for the Department and is the result of hard work by the staff and students of the Department. This achievement will be followed by our introduction of a new BArch degree programme and revised Diploma in Architecture in 2014.
Students who have successfully completed the following qualifications can register with SACAP in the categories indicated.
- National Diploma: Architectural Technology - Candidate Technologist
- BTech: Architectural Technology (Applied Design) - Candidate Senior Technologist
- MTech: Architectural Technology (Professional) - Candidate Architect
