What is Edulink?
Edulink is the name of the interactive, online learning environment at the University of Johannesburg.
Here students can find some of the general administrative information for their courses such as contact details of lecturers, general announcements, course-specific calendars, etc.
Depending on a lecturer, students may be given the opportunity to take part in online discussions (where they can pose certain content-related questions to fellow students and lecturers), download additional notes, be expected to submit assignments, complete self-assessment activities or even take their class tests, semester tests or formal examinations in pre-booked computer labs.
What is EdulinkNextGen?
It is UJ’s next version of Edulink. EdulinkNextGen is powered by Blackboard Learn 9.1 and is bound to bring a number of benefits to the University’s online learning and teaching environment, including more Web 2.0 and social network possibilities.
Piloting EdulinkNextGen:
A pilot project will be implemented in the second semester of 2010. 30 lecturers in 30 modules and about 5 000 students will take part in our preparation for full deployment in January 2011.
