 Shared Services and Operations Unit

… keeping the wheels of PsyCaD turning!

This team represents the engine room of PsyCaD: it keeps the Centre’s wheels turning through daily operational functions.  It has the following main functions:

  • Operations and logistics
  • Finances
  • Procurement
  • Diary management
  • Data management
  • Office: Work Integrated Learning

Under these are functions such as administrative support, conference and travel arrangements, leave management as well as the management of the Centre’s infrastructure and equipment.

The Administrative Assistants ensure that there is adequate support to PsyCaD. This ensures that the Centre’s five service units function smoothly and effectively.  The Administrative Assistants are the first point of contact with PsyCaD as they act as receptionists and book appointments into the professionals’ diaries.

The Centre’s  finances are managed centrally by the Director: PsyCaD and the Operations Assistant together with  the Financial Officer. The Shared Services Unit is in charge of all procurement processes in support of service delivery.

PsyCaD uses an electronic diary which is managed by the administrative assistants. Diaries are shared across the Centre as an additional way of indicating commitment to transparency in the affairs of PsyCaD

Data management is a core function within PsyCaD. The centre utilises an electronic tracking system that makes it possible to record daily activities and the number of clients that use PsyCaD’s services. All client files are kept in a safe and secure place at all times, in accordance with the requirements of the Health Professions Council of SA.
