This site is for you if, on the basis of your outstanding academic performance in 2011, you have qualified as an invited member of UJ's UJenius Club for 2012.
What is the UJenius Club?
The UJenius Club is a new Vice-Chancellor's initiative to acknowledge outstanding performance by undergraduate students, and to offer them additional opportunities of intellectual and professional development. Each year students who have achieved a year average of 75% in the preceding year, on a full load, and with no module below 70%, are nominated for membership. In 2011 there were approximately 250 members: As such, you would be among the top 250 undergraduates at UJ.
What is the club about?
- Acknowledging and promoting academic excellence as a core component of the UJ student identity
- Involving our top students in other disciplines and a broader range of academic debates in view of the growing world-wide importance of interdisciplinarity
- Promoting the UJ values, with Senior Top Achievers expected to contribute as well as to receive
- Creating a social space where Senior Top Achievers (from different faculties and campuses) are able to discover each other, and to build partnerships and friendships
- Creating opportunities for closer contact with members of the teaching and research staff
- Creating opportunities for closer contact with the Alumni Network and alumni.
