 Student Leadership

As any home has parents who look out for you and guide you, we have our house parents who live on campus (not in Res) and who help us and guide us every step of the way. Our House parents are Erica and Morne du Toit, and they are by far the very best you can ask for!

We also have our ‘koshuis Tannie’ Tannie Anne-Marie who helps us take care of any maintenance problems which may occur so to keep our res in tip top condition.

There are 9 House committee members who are elected every year who are responsible for organising functions, taking care of any problems within the residence and make it a nurturing home for all the girls who live here.

The House Committee consists of 4 executive positions (Prim, Deputy Prim, Secretary, and Treasurer) and 5 non-executive positions that are divided into sport, culture, social, transformation, and Rag.

We also have Voogde or guardians which are about 18 senior residents who are elected by the house to take care of first year students, and help them adapt to university student life as it can be a life altering experience for the girls. This position along with HK (House Committee) is a prestigious status within our residence and it is one which the ladies really work towards achieving. Our Voogde really form part of the back bone of the residence providing a good emotional background for our girls.
