House Rules

We have a “tug” system otherwise known as a fine system where if rules are not adhered to the girls receive a monetary fine relative to the seriousness of the transgression (the amount charged varies with the offence), or in the alternative, house points (which affect your choice of rooms for the next year) may also be deducted from your total accumulated doing all the fun activities at res. If the fine is not paid or in the case of more serious offences both a tug and points deduction may be imposed.

We take offences to others’ possessions and noise very seriously as it is impossible to live in harmony without basic consideration for human rights.

There is study time for all first year students in which they will be required to study at their desks Monday–Thursday to ensure that only the top academic results are achieved. First years also have a curfew of 12pm every night as to assure their safety and as a form of management. These rules are in accordance with the UJ Auckland park campus residence policy and are used to form a foundation of study routines.

These simply highlight the major rules and should you enquire any more please feel free to contact Benjemijn Ladies Residence.
