Sun Valley Residence is situated in Doornfontein next to Johannesburg and Ellis Park stadium. We have easy access to shops, public transport and public phones within the building. Sun Valley is known for its quietness, making it conducive to learning.
The clean and neat four storey building provides a breathtaking view of Jo’burg stadium. Sun Valley boasts with inner undercover parking, braai-facilities, washing machine/laundry, a kitchen in every flat fitted with stoves and also has Mnet/DSTV. Sun Valley is a safe and secure Residence with palisade fencing around the building, CCTV camera’s, a 24hrs guard on duty with monitored access in and out of the building.
Sun Valley Residence houses junior and postgrad, Engineering, Art and Health students. In this Residence, team-spirit and friendliness outweighs personal glory by far. This residence is a flat type and self catering accommodation which boasts 40 flats that accommodates 200 students.
Students engage themselves with different sports to keep them active.
The smooth running of the residence is due to a dedicated House Committee and the Residence Manager. In addition to this, management is concerned about the wellness of students and we develop student mentally and emotionally.
Our residence life has much to offer and our members find that their personal growth at Sun Valley increase by leaps and bounds. Students are exposed to a vibrant community where learning and balanced living are advocated for holistic development. We boast a first-year mentoring programme and various peer study groups that offer academic engagement opportunities for students. Relaxation isn't neglected: we offer recreation facilities such as pool tables.
Our residence has the Mayor of Johannesburg, Mr Amos Masondo, as our Patron. We have friendly support staff readily available for assistance to students. We have the great advantage of offering 24-hour medical assistance. For students who would like to spend some quiet time in spiritual contemplation, we have prayer rooms available.
