A special welcome is always extended to first year students by encouraging them to actively participate in the University residences’ first year concert. This is one event that is exploited to ensure that students become friendly with each other and get to know their fellows in the residence.
Social Responsibility
Dale lace is privileged to be associated with Ms. Lesego Motsepe of the Isidingo Fame as out patron. She has been with the residence since 2002 while it was still a ladies’ residence. Ms. Motsepe has shown her dedication to the residence to such an extent that the residence felt that she should be awarded the highest honour ever bestowed on an individual, The Companion of Dale Lace. It is precisely for the above reasons that we state without any fear of contradiction or doubt that our students are privileged to study and live at Dale Lace in times such as these. Dale Lace has just entered into co-operative arrangements with Lebone Residence from the Kingsway Campus. The students have in essence agreed to co-operate in all their student development, sporting and all other academic and social programmes that they will undertake from 2008 going forward. This is something heart-warming since it’s in line with our aim of ensuring every student really experience the ultimate university experience.
Sport
There are various sporting codes that are available for students at the residence. Some students prefer playing mind games like chess. The main sporting code in the residence is soccer.
