Statkon SPSS and AMOS Licensing

IMPORTANT NOTE: SPSS and AMOS is for use by UJ staff and postgraduate students only and for educational purposes. SPSS and AMOS cannot be installed and used by non-UJ persons nor be used for commercial gain by UJ staff or postgraduate students.

SPSS Licensing

Statkon is responsible for the procurement of a site (campus wide) license for SPSS from SPSS-SA.

There are three sources of SPSS:

1. An SPSS DVD can be loaned from one of the UJ libraries for installation purposes. Please check for availability before attempting to collect a DVD on UJLink (Library catalogue). Use keyword: SPSS 18.0. Please report any problems with loaning SPSS from a library to statkon@uj.ac.za with a clear description of the problem experienced.

2. An SPSS DVD can be loaned from the Statkon office. Please check for availability of a DVD beforehand by calling 011 559 2851 or emailing statkon@uj.ac.za.

3. SPSS can also be downloaded and installed from the following url: http://itnet.uj.ac.za/media/spss/ To access this url you need to be logged in the UJ network. To install SPSS you will need to download the spss 18.zip file and spss_2011_installation file to a temporary directory on your hard drive. Please note the zip file is large so may take time to transfer. To install SPSS after downloading these files you will need to unzip the spss_18 zip file and then follow the instructions in the spss 2011 installation file.
