Prof Bhekie Mamba was the top contributor with 16 accredited journal articles submitted to the DoHET in 2009. His research interests are in nanomaterials for water treatment within the Nanomaterials Science Research Group which has a multi-disciplinary team focussed on the synthesis, characterisation and application of various nanomaterials to energy, water, catalysis, medicine and materials. The research group has grown from just a handful of people to its current contingent of 10 researchers and 30 postgraduate students in less than 5 years.
