Mandela Day inspires UJ community - 2012 |

Like many institutions and companies countrywide, the University of Johannesburg (UJ) heeded the call to pledge time for community outreach initiatives, commemorating Nelson Mandela’s birthday.Some 500 UJ staff and students dedicated their time by washing windows, scrubbing cots and toilets, and mopping floors and doing general maintenance work in and around the Helen Joseph, the Chris Hani, the Rahima Moosa and the Charlotte Maxeke hospitals. |

The 2012 Varsity Cup rugby tournament kicked off on Friday, 27 January 2012 and will run until end of March. UJ lost to TUKS by 8-23 in the first game and won the second and third matches against UCT by 29-15 and NMMU by 48-18, respectively. |

BHP Billiton to fund Small Business Enrichment Programme (SBEP) at CSBD |

The Small Business Enrichment Programme (SBEP), offered by UJ's Centre for Small Business Development (CSBD), affords small business owners an opportunity to grow and strengthen their businesses. The cost of the programme is R15 000.00, and BHP Billiton committed to sponsor 90% of this fee. Participants are encouraged to pay the remaining 10%, as a commitment fee to the programme. |
