 Centre for Social Entrepreneurship

A pioneering and ground-breaking initiative by the Faculty is the establishment of a Centre for Social Entrepreneurship (CSE). The CSE research, educate and promote social entrepreneurship and the social economy.

This centre connects with the “new growth path” envisaged by government. Therefore the offering of strategies and programmes, blurring the boundaries between business, government and non-profit, adopting and adapting the tools and knowledge from all sectors and disciplines to improve performance, develop new approaches and attract more resources to the social economy; is of utmost importance.

The CSE secured the Social Enterprise World Forum (SEWF) for the African continent in 2011 and this event will be hosted by the Faculty of Management at the University of Johannesburg.
