Politics is everywhere! Essentially it encompasses the study of the rules and institutions that govern our daily lives. It is also however the study of human rights groups, terrorist organisations, labour unions, religious bodies and other actors that play their pivotal roles in politics and international relations.
The Department of Politics is a vibrant, innovative department and consistently strives to stimulate intellectual debate. The Department offers students the opportunity to argue, discuss, challenge, question and learn about political events both at home and around the world. The insight students gain from studying politics at the University of Johannesburg will assist them in becoming a positive force in the improvement of the quality of life for all!
