The Department of Historical Studies hosts a regular seminar series (normally on Tuesdays at 16:00) in which visiting academics, staff members and post-graduate students present papers based on original historical research. The aim of the seminar series is, first, to create a forum for the dissemination and discussion of new research and, second, to expose the students and staff members of the Department of Historical Studies to as wide a range of historical research as possible. To this end we often invite scholars from other universities to present papers on a range of historical periods, places and topics.
The seminars are open to all interested members of the academic community. Should you wish to be added to our mailing list, please e-mail Stephan Sparks (sjwsparks@uj.ac.za).
