Welcome to the UJ Department of German

Through partnerships with other universities, schools and the Johannesburg Goethe-Institut; the UJ Department of German is a dynamic department.
Regardless of whether one has no prior knowledge in German or a Matric level in German, the UJ Department of German offers undergraduate courses that allow students to grasp German language communication skills. The more advanced undergraduate German courses deal with aspects of German literature and even cover communication in business German.
Furthermore, the department has a good research output and honours, masters and doctoral degree programmes.
