Sport and Movement Studies Bachelor Degree Programmes

People who complete qualifications in human movement studies move on to various careers, including Biokineticists, Sport Scientists, Sport Managers, Coaches, Fitness and Health consultants, Journalits, Presenters and, Researchers to name a few.
The Department offers 5 degrees:

BCom Sport Management
BA Sport Psychology
BA Sport Communication
BA Sport Development
All 5 programmes give a student access to our postgraduate progrmmes in Biokinetics, Sport Management and Sport Science!
Degree Programmes And Entrance Requirements
Sport Management (BCom Sport Management)
Majors include Human Movement Studies, Business Management and Industrial Psychology. Entry requirements: Minimum APS Score of 24 (At least 4 for Maths is compulsory)
Sport Science (BSc Sport Science)
Majors include Human Movement Studies, Human Physiology and Biochemistry. Entry requirements: Minimum APS Score of 25.
Sport Psychology (BA Sport Psychology)
Majors include Human Movement Studies and Psychology. Entry requirements: Minimum APS Score of 25 (26 if Maths Literacy is considered).
Sport Communication (BA Sport Communication)
Majors include Human Movement Studies and Communication. Entry requirements: Minimum APS Score of 25 (26 if Maths Literacy is considered).
Sport Development (BA Sport Development)
Majors include Human Movement Studies, Sociology and Development Studies. Entry requirements: Minimum APS Score of 25 (26 if Maths Literacy is considered)
What Does Human Movement Studies Entail?
Candidates enrolling for any one of the above programmes will complete Human Movement Studies as one of their majors. Some of the modules include:

Sport Psychology
Health Promotion or Wellness

The programmes presented by the Department of Sport and Movement Studies include a variety of disciplines, all related to sport. Candidates who usually enrol for these programmes are individuals who are involved in sport, either as a participant or as a spectator. These individuals are also interested in organising sport events, managing facilities and sport teams, training and coaching people. They frequently read about sport and actively express their own opinions about sport.
