A podiatrist is a health professional competent in the assessment, diagnosis and management of foot and foot-related lower limb disorders. The University of Johannesburg’s Podiatry Clinic is an undergraduate teaching clinic open to members of the public. Podiatric assessments and treatment are conducted by the undergraduate students under the supervision of registered clinicians.

The university podiatry clinic provides a comprehensive range of podiatry services including:
Foot and lower limb assessments
Diabetic screening
Wound care
Treatment of lesions of the skin and nails, including corns, callouses and nail problems
Treatment of infections (e.g. plantar warts)
Nail surgery
Foot care and footwear education
Biomechanical assessments
Insole and orthosis manufacture
Nail surgery

Fees:
Reduced fees are levied to cover the costs of materials and to help upgrade Clinic equipment. These vary according to the type of service or treatment provided.
