MTech Homoeopathy

Programme Content

The Homoeopathy student enters a five-year full-time programme leading to the MTech Degree in Homoeopathy. You will study the detailed anatomy and physiology of the healthy body, diagnosis and treatment of disorders, and the homoeopathic philosophy, principles and Materia Medica.

You will be required to do clinical work in your fourth and fifth year of study, during which you will deal with patients in UJ's Health Centre under the guidance of qualified homoeopathic practitioners. You will also be required to conduct research and complete a dissertation in your fifth year of study.

Selection
Selection is based on academic merit, a personal interview, a letter of recommendation from at least two practising doctors of Homoeopathy and one from the on campus Homoeopathy Health Centre as well as a written essay on a topic to be decided upon by the Department of Homoeopathy.

Fifth year

  • Practice Management and Jurisprudence,

Experiential learning
From your third year of study you will have contact with patients and will be required to complete a certain number of hours in a clinic in order to complete a specified training programme.

Professional Status
All students and qualified Homoeopaths must register with the Allied Health Service Professions Council of South Africa. Full registration will be granted after completion of a period of community service / internship as determined by the Council.
