University of Johannesburg BTech Degree students from the Department of Visual Art participated in the National Research Foundation Community Engagement Programme (NRF CEP) in a rural area in Limpopo province. The students used arts-based methods to elicit positive responses to HIV/AIDS issues within the community.

Design Indaba Young Designers Simulcast 2011 at University of Johannesburg
In February 2011, for the first time ever, Johannesburg-based young designers were also be able to experience the Design Indaba Conference, via a simulcast, at the University of Johannesburg. FADA Alumni make their mark on the Soccer World Cup
Two of the UJ’s Faculty of Art Design and Architecture alumni members are basking in the knowledge that their designs are entrenched in this year’s Soccer World Cup.
Gaby de Abreu, Group Creative Director and co-founder of Switch Design Group, was selected from top graphic designers to design the official logo and poster for the 2010 FIFA World Cup South Africa.
Jonathan Fundudis, an industrial designer and owner of Snapp Design, was also commissioned to design, and produce 64 Budweiser Man of the Match trophies to be given to an outstanding player after every game. |
