1 Day. 14 Cities.
World IA Day 2012 is about bringing the Information Architecture community together. Weʼre
fostering links within local communities and on a global scale. Weʼre sharing information, ideas and research. And weʼre doing it through unconventional, exciting and engaging IA events this February.
The first ever World IA Day focuses on Designing Structures for Understanding. On February 11, 2012, weʼre hosting WIAD events in 14 cities across all corners of the globe, including Johannesburg.
What is Information Architecture (IA)
Information Architecture (IA) has been described as the “The structural design of shared information environments” and provides methods, tools and techniques critical to providing the underlying structure of user experiences. Often described as ʻthe design behind the designʼ IA has made its biggest impact in the design of user experiences for the World Wide Web, however more recently it is increasingly being acknowledged as a critical tool for designing usable, effective and integrated cross-channel customer experiences.
