 FADA Students Exhibitions 2011

The best ‘things’ since sliced bread

Towards the end of every year, the University of Johannesburg’s Faculty of Art Design and Architecture (FADA) building is transformed into an art and design gallery, exhibiting the top work of senior students.

The first of two end-of-year student exhibitions opened at the University on 2 November, with over 600 visitors meandering through this massive exhibition. The second exhibition opened on 22 November 2011 with approximately 300 visitors streaming through the doors.

The theme of this year’s exhibition is The best ‘things’ since sliced bread, with quirky, colourful bread used on the invitations, posters and interior signage. Max Siefert, a third year Graphic Design student, came up with the concept and designed the promotional materials.

The first exhibition, which ran from 2 to 15 November, showed the best creative work from those studying Fine Art, Graphic Design, Multimedia, Jewellery Design and Fashion Design. The exhibition closed with Fashion Fusion, a live fashion interactive event (‘pop-up’ shops).
