Programme Content
Once students have graduated from the National Diploma course and have gained a broad understanding of the field of Architecture, they are able to specialise in this offering in any one of the following fields:
a) Applied Design
b) Architectural Management
Duration
One year full-time, two years part-time (only Architectural Management is offered on a part-time basis).

NOTE: *Any of these subjects may be replaced by any other BTech subject mentioned above by the Department (subject to prior approval from the Departmental Committee, application for which must be made in the previous year).

Fees
Applied Design Cost: R29 715 (2012 Fees)
Management Cost: R23 625 (2012 Fees)
All fees mentioned here are approximations. Fees tend to increase between 10% and 12% yearly.
Admission requirements
A National Diploma: Architectural Technology from an accredited institution, or an equivalent qualification (SACAP Part 1) at an equivalent standard as determined by the Departmental Committee.
At the discretion of the Head of Department, applicants for the BTech: Architectural Technology may be required to register for and pass bridging subjects in the National Diploma course.
Selection
Applicants must submit a UJ application form by 28 September 2012 to the UJ Applications Office or the postal address given on the form.
Applicants that are considered for the BTech programme may be required to:
a) submit a portfolio of work;
b) attend an interview with the Departmental Committee;
c) Obtain an average of 60% for the final year of the National Diploma: Architectural Technology.
