Infromal Studio, public exhibition by MTech Architectural Technology students


Informal Studio: R U I M S I G

A public exhibition by MTech Architectural Technology students summarised a current informal settlement upgrading project. The collected work on exhibition portrayed, primarily through film, the challenging dynamics inherent in the teaching of this course, and the necessary shift required by architects, educators and officials to acknowledge and engage with the informal city and its networks. Masters Students are Re-Educating the City  

Architecture Masters students from the University of Johannesburg (UJ) are ‘Re-educating the City’ in a project that explored the spaces used for inner-city schools. The seven-week design project culminated with an exhibition of the work from all 16 participants.
