The UJ-Civil Engineering Society arranges industry hosted functions twice a month. The aim of these functions is to expose students to industry leaders (across various industries) and real life applications of acquired knowledge. These functions allow companies an opportunity to liaise with current bursary students, and to establish a relationship with the University of Johannesburg’s Faculty of Engineering and the Built Environment. During these functions, hosts also have a chance to recruit students to join their company or organization. Bursary information or employment opportunities can also be brought to the students’ attention. Companies are also encouraged to showcase their past, current and future projects and to bring marketing items that will be put up during the function or handed out to students during the function.
We would appreciate it if you would consider hosting a function with us in 2012. The format of the functions is as follows:
18:00 Students start arriving
18:45 Presentation by host company (30 to 45 min long)
19:30 Food and drinks for all attendees
The functions cost R5000 excluding VAT (R5700 with VAT) which is used to cover the catering and marketing for the function. They are held in the AVENG Engineering Club House at the University of Johannesburg.
