 Centre for Education Practice Research

Jacob Dladla

Mr Jacob Dladla, pictured above, is the principal of a high school is located in Pageview/Cottesloe where two of the CEPR projects are based. The New Nation School was founded in 1996 and is housed in a building that dates from 1904. The building is thus a Heritage Site. Prior to 1996 the school was, among others, the Cottesloe Laerskool.

The Centre is the home for research projects and publications in the faculty of Education. All academic staff members of the Faculty are research associates. Postgraduate students who collaborate with staff are also affiliated to the centre, as are visiting scholars.

Data analysis conversations in the CEPR: Valencia Mabalane discusses the analysis of her PhD with Dr Rabaitse Diseko and Jerry Maseko. The discussion, in Sesotho and Setswana, proceeds with translations to and from English - to show cross-linguistic contexts and complexities.

The CEPR was officially launched at a function on 24 April 2007. The centre houses several research projects dedicated to the generation of knowledge about the practice and development of education in the Southern African region.
