The Faculty of Economic and Financial Sciences of the University of Johannesburg has a distinctive financial focus that sets it apart from other commerce faculties in South Africa. Its programme-mix consists of a particular selection of BCom degrees,BAcc degree and diplomas that attempt to address the rapidly growing demand for skills in the fields of accountancy, financial economics and econometrics, and financial decision-making as well as the demand for chartered accountants, financial econometricians, bankers, financial planners and financial managers. The faculty has already established itself as a national leader in teaching and producing candidate Chartered Accountants and Chartered Management Accountants.
The Faculty is the one of the largest faculties at the institution, hosting approximately 20% of enrolled students. The programmes offered by the Faculty are organised within four departments, each with a unique focus:
