“Untold Stories” – Short Film Festival

In an attempt to draw our students into debate and discussion around HIV and AIDS issues, our student volunteers, The “LINK”, held a 3-day short films festival (popcorn included!) on all four UJ campuses, from 19-2 1 May 2009. Soul City’s “Untold Stories”, a relevant collection of HIV-related films, were shown to the audiences and a discussion around the films followed.
Issues such as multiple concurrent partners, women abuse, child-headed households and disclosure were covered. The films were well attended, and provided a non-threatening and interesting space for peer education to happen! (See poster below)
