The Human Resources Information Systems (HRIS) section consists of a Manager, two System Specialists, a System Administrator and two Management Information Administrators.
The purpose of HRIS is to develop, implement and maintain HR information systems and to ensure that it is integrated and aligned with the relevant HR processes and current legislation. Reporting and extraction of data are also functions which reside with this team. Basic administration (eg resetting of passwords) of the UJ career portal also forms part of the HRIS function.
Our current (system) focus is Oracle Self Service, which allows permanent and fixed term employees to manage/update their own biographical and qualification details online, as well as submit electronic leave applications.
